batampos.co.id – Defence and security company Saab has continued its commitment  to academic partnership and professional development in Indonesia with the award of 20 scholarships to the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesia’s defence industry.

As a part of a continuing effort to build educational bridges between Sweden and Indonesia, Saab is maintaining its commitment to knowledge transfer by awarding 20 scholarships for the executive course at postgraduate level in ‘Technology Forecasting and Long-Term Defence Planning’. The course is hosted by the Swedish Defence University, together with Saab, and provided to students drawn from the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and national defence industry.

A commencement ceremony and signature of a letter of agreement was hosted by TNI at its headquarters in Cilangkap, Jakarta, on 29 March 2017. This latest scholarship award is part of a wider Saab programme to provide 50 scholarship places for Indonesia.

“We are proud to present our scholarship to 20 professionals from the Indonesian Armed Forces, and the local defence industry. We have implemented academic and industrial cooperation with governments and industry all over the world. This is a way to show our commitment to the transfer of technology and sharing of knowledge with Indonesia, especially in the defence and security domain. At the end of this programme we hope the scholars can apply their experience in an Indonesian context,“ says Anders Dahl, Head of Saab Indonesia.

This executive course ends in August in Indonesia with a closing ceremony hosted by the Indonesian Armed Forces. ***
